Chapter III

Research Methodology

This chapter gives details about the method research employed by the researchers which includes
the research design, respondents, of the study, research instrument, validation of the instrument, date –
gathering procedure and the statistical treatment used for the collected data.

A. Research Design

This study employed the descriptive method of research since it aims to know the Enhancing
Livelihood in Barangay Pansol, Padre Garcia, Batangas.

According to Ecora (2003), the descriptive method research is adequate for gathering information
about the current condition. Revilla (2002) as cited by Shavers pointed out that the main aim in
employing this method is to describe the nature of the situation as it exists at the of the study and
explore the possible sources of the phenomena.

In this study, the researcher’s objective was to gather the perception of the beneficiaries on the
existing livelihood programs on selected barangay in Pansol, Padre Garcia relative to trainers’ support,
implementors support and perception of the local government support. Likewise, it verified if there are
significant relationship on the perception of the beneficiaries on the existing livelihood programs in
terms of support of trainers, implementors, and the local government. Furthermore, it identified the
problems encounters by the beneficiaries in the implementation of the livelihood programs.
