METHODOLOGY

According to Trichomes (2010), research design “provides the questions that hold the

research project together. A design is used to structure the research to show how the all major

parts of the research project worked together to try to address the central question".

The researcher's used the survey research design under the quantitative study to

determine the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education to the BSBA students of Negros

Oriental State University. Survey research design in a method for collecting data as reported by

individuals (Schultz, 2012). This study was conducted at Negros Oriental State University, one

of the universities of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. Specifically located at Kagawasan

Avenue, Negros Oriental.

All levels of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration students enrolled in Negros

Oriental State University were the target respondent of the study. The respondents were taken

according to this availability - non probability sampling relies in data collection from population

members who are conveniently available to participate in the study (Explorable, 2018).

The researchers used a questionnaire made by the authors of the study “The Effectiveness

of Entrepreneurship Education to the Business Strategy”. The questionnaire was presented to the

three consultant teachers, one of them is an English teacher and two teachers are advisers in

Demetrio L. Alviola National High School–Senior High, they checked the grammar error of the

questionnaire. Moreover, in order to ensure the reliability of the questionnaire the researchers

had a dry run to fifth (5) students from General Academic Strand 12 one of the target

respondents. The items were tested using the Chronbach's alpha and yielded a value of 0.333333

which means it is not reliable therefore, the researchers do some revisions in the questionnaire

for further improvement (Junvic C. Carollo, et al.)

In order to start collecting data, the researchers made e request letter for the BSBA

department dean, asking her permission to conduct a survey in the institution. Once the letter was

approved, the researchers proceeded to the next step which was the floating of the questionnaire

to the respondents of the study. Confidentiality was assured to the student-respondents to avoid

biases in their self-assessment for the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education in terms of

teacher’s proficiency, instructional materials used and to the subject effectiveness of Negros

Oriental State University students.

Mean. This was used to determine the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education in

terms of teacher’s proficiency and instructional materials and business strategy of senior high

school students.

Formula:
͞X= ∑x
n

where:

͞X= mean
X= Scores/Rating
n= number of respondents

Spearman rank correlational coefficient. This was used to identify the significant

relationship between the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education in terms of teacher’s

proficiency and instructional materials to the business strategy of senior high school students.

Data are in ordinal scale that is why this tool is used. Below is the formula used by the

researcher’s.

Formula:

rs= 1-6(∑d2)
n(n2-1)
where:

rs= Spearman rho

∑d2= sum of the squared difference between rank

n= total number of respondents
