Empowering ICT Coordinators of Bolinao Cluster 1 in the Use of Google Workspace

for Education Fundamentals

II. DATE OF IMPLEMENTATION & VENUE:

October 27-29, 2021, Google Meet (Online Platform)

III. DESCRIPTION OF THE LAC SESSION & LEGAL BASIS

With the Online Distance Learning as a new delivery mode of learning to be employed
by the school for the school year 2021-2022, pending the face-to-face or in-person learning,
there is a need to capacitate teachers on the use of learning resources and strategies that will
best fit the needs and context of the learners and their home learning facilitators.

In line with the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration (OUA) Memorandum 00-
1220-01966 dated 17 December 20220 on the Google Certification Training Program, it will
cover the advantages, applications, and relevance of blended learning instruction. This will
empower public school teachers to be Google Certified Educators (Level 1 & 2) and create a
pool of qualified trainers for the use of Google Workspace for Education Apps.

This is in line with the provision of DepEd Order 35, s. 2016 entitled The Learning Action
Cell as a K to 12 Basic Education Program School-Based Continuing Professional Development
Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning.

This is in line with the provision Guidelines on Distance Learning, which stipulates that
“Schools may organize professional development activities to enhance teachers
understanding of and skills in the use of LMS. These PD activities may include LAC,
coaching, and formal training which can be done with the aid of online platforms”.

IV. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the training, the participants are expected to:
1. be more familiar with Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals.
2. appreciate the advantages of Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals.
3. be empowered in taking the Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam.
