(a) A mechanical device has inputs A, B, C, D and output X. The Boolean expression is
written as:

i) Determine the simplified Boolean expression for this function using Karnaugh Map.
ii) Determine the simplified Boolean expression for this function using Boolean
Theorem.
iii) Draw the simplified logic diagram.

(b) A Boolean function is given by:

F(A,B,C,D)= ΠM(0,3,4,6,9,10,11,12,13,14).

i) Design a full logic circuit using only the 4-to-16 decoder and OR gate.
ii) Determine the simplified SOP Boolean expression for the 4-to-16 decoder and
OR gate using Karnaugh Map.
iii) Based on the operation specified in Q(b)(i), redesign the circuit using the
4-to-1 Multiplexer.

(c) Perform the working method for the following operations.

i) 278 + 328
ii) 11012 + 11002 + 112
iii) AB16 + 1F16
