    Chapter 1
    INTRODUCTION

    Today students at all levels have been engaged in the use of social media. This research
    therefore seeks to investigate the extent social media is used by students of Asian Institute of
    Computer Studies into social media and also determine the effect of their use on their academic
    performance. The researchers generally hope to provide significant insights that lead to the
    improvement of students’ academic performance.
