 What is TinkerNext?

TinkerNext is a peer-to-peer technical mentorship

program that connects first and second-year
undergraduates to an Innomentor for apt technical
learning through the self-selected project ideas from
Innomentors. The projects can be in the broad fields of
but not limited to Artificial intelligence, IoT (Internet of
Things), Data Sciences, Blockchain, Software
Development, Computer Vision and Image Processing,
Quantum Computing, Product Design, Electronics &,
Robotics, UI/UX.

This program enables students to bring forth ingenious

ideas and overcome technical hurdles. The registered
Innomentors and Mentees will form a project team and
get an opportunity to work on their concept under the
patronage of Rethink! The Tinkering Lab. The ideas will be
fully supported in terms of facilities and consumables
until graduation from the program. The projects will have
the opportunity to get funded by iHUB DivyaSampark/
TIDES.

 Who are Innomentors
and Mentees?

Innomentor as we call Innovation + Mentor,

build and bring to life your dream project, while
at the same time guide your juniors and build
an amazing team.

To be an Innomentor, the applicant must be

from 3rd or 4th year UG/IDD , 1st/2nd year PG,
PhD Program.

Mentees, be a part of a technical team, and

explore all the cool technologies you always
wanted to try your hands on.

There are no program restrictions for being a

mentee.

 Role of iHUB

DivyaSampark

iHUB DivyaSampark, aims to enable innovative ecosystem in cyber-

physical systems (CPS) and becoming the source for the next
generation of digital technologies, products and services by
promoting translational research, enhancing core competencies,
capacity building, training to provide solutions for national strategic
sectors and becoming a key contributor to Digital India.

The hub will foster research innovation towards product/technology

development and commercialization in CPS with relevant and next-
generation Devices and Materials in the areas of Healthcare, Industry
4.0 and Smart Cities.

The projects registered in TinkerNext belonging to the broad field of

Cyber Physical Systems will be proposed to the iHuB, DivyaSampark
for appropriate funding and mentorship possibilities from the
industry's most diligent experts, once approved by the Review
Committee.

 Role of TIDES

Technology Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development Society

(TIEDS) has been established to promote innovation and
entrepreneurship in the region.

To accomplish its goal, TIEDS runs and manages a Business

Incubator called Technology Innovation & Development of
Entrepreneurship Support (TIDES) Business Incubator hosted at
Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

TIDES facilitates incubation of new enterprises with innovative

technologies by admitting them at its Incubation Centre and
provides physical, technical, financial and networking support and
services.

The projects belonging to the broad purview of TIDES will be

recommended to them for appropriate funding and mentorship
possibilities from the industry's most diligent experts, once approved
by the Review Committee.

As an Innomentor

Fill in your details and Project description.

Innomentors will be selected based on

round(s) of interviews by The Students’

Body, Tinkering Lab.

Mentees with similar interests will be

assigned for 2-4 months.

Tinkering Lab Student Body.

Ensure that lab facilities are not misused.

Submit a project completion report and abide by

Tinkering Lab policies.

MENTEE

Provide periodic review of Innomentor when asked by

the Tinkering Lab Student Body.

Ensure that lab facilities are not misused.

Abide by the Tinkering Lab ethical guidelines.

 WORKFLOW
Registration
Innomentors and mentees will
register through website

Selection
Innomentors will be interviewed and
subsequently allotted mentees.

Facilities
Innomentor and Mentees will be
eligible to use Tinkering Lab Facilities.

Submission
In the end a report has to be
submitted for verification.

Certificates
After verification innomentor and
mentee will be eligible for certificates.

Further Funding
Projects verified by the Review Panel
will be eligible for further funding from
iHUB DivyaSampark/TIDES.

 GUIDELINES

There will be a periodic project review every 28 days

until the project is completed or recommended to
iHUB DivyaSampark/TIDES.
Innomentorship certificate for innomentors are subject
to their involvement for at least 42 days from starting
of the project.
In case of frequent (twice in a row), poor reviews from
Mentee, student’ body will have the right to revoke the
innomentorship
Project certificates for mentees are subject to a joint
review of completion report by innomentor and Student
body.
Innomentors will be allowed to issue lab keys for
consultations and meetings with mentees.
