In response to your online application against the NIH advertisement no.
NIHR/Establishment/2019 published in the Employment News dated 18-24 January, 2020 for
recruitment to the post of Scientist *B” in NIH, it is informed that a qualifying written examination
for the above post shall be conducted by NIH as per the schedule given below.

You are therefore requested to appear for the written examination and report at the
examination venue at 08.30 AM on 13.03.2022. You must also produce this letter in original, the
duly completed Admit Card attached with this letter and your identity proof such as Aadhar
card/Driving Licence/Identity card in original at the time of entry to the examination hall
General guidelines
1, The question paper for the written examination would be of two hours duration and would
consist of 100 objective type multiple choice questions. Each question would be of one mark.
The question paper shall have two sections: ‘Section A’ and ‘Section B’
3. ‘Section A° of 30 marks would include questions on current affairs, mental ability, and
general awareness about water resources and environmental issues ete.
4. “Section B’ of 70 marks would have questions of the graduation level (in case of engineering
background candidates) and post graduation level (in case of Science background candidates).
The Section would have a mix of questions from the disciplines mentioned in the
advertisement with a focus on hydrology and water resources and to gauge the conceptual
understanding in the area of hydrology and water resources.
5. One mark would be awarded for each correct answer. There would also be a negative marking
of (-)0.25 mark for (i) every wrong answer and (ji) more than one ticked answer. The
candidates are therefore advised to tick mark ¥ only one most appropriate answer.
6. The minimum qualifying marks in the written examination would be 40% for General/OBC
category and 30% for SC/ST category
7. Only the candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks shall be considered for interview.
8. The candidates for the interview shall be called in the ratio of 1:6 of the number of posts, i.e.
up to a maximum of six candidates against one post shall be called for the interview based on
the merit in the written examination,
The candidates who are already in the government job shall have to produce NO Objection
Certificate from their employer at the time of interview.

‘The candidates for the written examination should report at the examination venue at

Candidates must bring this letter in original, the duly completed Admit Card attached with this
letter, and also their identity proof such as Aadhar card / Driving Licence / Identity card in
original. No candidate would be allowed to enter the examination hall without producing these
documents in original.
Smart phone / smart watches / calculators / tablets / ete. would not be allowed in the
examination hall
Candidates must use only blue ball point pen to tick mark the right answer on the Question-
cum-Answer sheet.
