ADVOCACY CAMPAIGNS

Advocacy means openly supporting a certain viewpoint or group of people. If you

are an advocate for a specific cause, you work to persuade the people. The goal of
advocacy advertising is to raise awareness of the cause at hand and persuade certain
segments of the public to take specific action. As a media advocate, you can use the
media to:
 Inform the public about what causes or contributes to public health and
development issues and educate them the concept of a healthy community.
 Recast problems like drug abuse or corruption to everyone, not just some
individuals.
 Encourage other professionals and community members to find out more about
public health and development issues in general, and to get involved.

The most common focal points of advocacy advertisements include issues regarding:
 Politics
 Economics
 Society

Examples of Advocacy Campaign on Economics
