Give 3 advantages and disadvantages of the use of media. Explain each

item in 3-5 sentences

Advantages

1. Educates people

The use of media can help educate people about various issues. It is believed
that this is not just a theoretical issue, and it really does help people to learn
about them. They are able to understand the problems and how these may
affect them as a society or what we need to do about these problems.

2. Serves as a good source of entertainment

One of the benefits to using media is that it helps one to be entertained. The
use of media does not consume much time making it easier for you to watch
your favorite shows or a movie. Since many people like watching TV and
movies, this makes them a great source of entertainment. One of the
advantages of using media is that it can provide us with information that
would otherwise be hard to obtain.

3. Media leads to diffusion of different cultures

The use of mass media such as radio, television, books and magazines is a
powerful tool used in the diffusion of cultural information. The advantage is
that it helps people from different parts of the world communicate with each
other by sharing their cultures. This also helps to reduce conflicts between
people who speak different languages and to understand each other better.
Disadvantage

1. It can lead to ruin of reputation

Media use can be dangerous to our health and life, when we expose
ourselves to it and become too vulnerable to it. Media can lead to ruin of
reputation, and this is even more harmful than the actual damage
received from information in the form of media. This damage can be
irreparable and irreparable if the consequences are often ignored or
denied.

2. Spreads fake news

A common problem with the use of media is that it threatens to spread

misinformation. By nature, media have the power to shape our view of the
world and society. This can be a good thing or bad depending on your
perspective. However, there are disadvantages associated with media;
they can often be manipulated by companies or individuals for their own
gain and this can lead to a number of problems in society.

3. Media can be addictive

The main disadvantage of using media is the influence it has on their

nature. The life of an individual is being changed by the use of media.
Media also has a negative effect on the family members, friends and
people around us. A person who consumes too much media is easily
influenced and may not know how to think for themselves in a clear
manner.
