SELF EVALUATION
I. GENERAL INFORMATION
Name of the Institution/Programme
Management of Resort and Leisure
Faculty of Social Science Education
Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia
This program has been emerged with background of high demand in tourism
professional human resources. It is specialized in managing and operating tourism
resort throughout Indonesia. Management of Resort and Leisure fullffil its
graduates with the core competency of tourism planning and management.
regarding with many potencial resources in Indonesia but still not yet optimized as
profitable industries. To answer those demands, Indonesia University of Education
develop this programme with No. 1340/J33/ PP.03.02/2005 dated 16 March 2005.
The learning process in this program is the content delivery by using a variety of
approaches, such as: classroom lectures, discussions between lecturers and
students or among students to improve students' ability in expressing their ideas. In
addition, the practices are also applied in fields that require students to go directly
to tourist destinations as laboratory. By this activity, students are expected to gain a
deeper understanding of actual conditions in the field. Students are also enriched
with practices that are intended as the implementations –such as seminars,
exhibitions, and others. Towards the end of study period, students are also required
to carry out activities of the Academic Training Program/On The Job Training
(OJT). In this program, students will gain learning and experiences that are related
directly to the work in the field of tourism. OJT activities are held at various hotels
and resorts in Indonesia.

National Accreditation Board for Higher Education Number
056/BAN-PT/Akred/S/II/2014.
Mission :
Including Assignment, Responsibility, Obligation and
Action Plan such as:
1. Organizing Tourism undergraduate education to
produce professional, trustworthy, and able to
develop the potential of natural and human resources
1.1 a) Mission to strengthen national and global tourism;
2. Carry out research and development in the field of the
management of resort & leisure;
3. Perform community service activities and leisure
resort management areas that correspond with the
needs and the development of society, science and
technology.
4. Expanding access and networking with national and
international tourism stakeholders.
1.1b) Action Plan Visi dan misi ini menjadi strategic direction yang
memusatkan, mengarahkan, memotivasi, menyatukan
dan memberikan inspirasi bagi organisasi untuk
mencapai kinerja yang terbaik. Dalam upaya
mencapai cita-cita besar seperti tergambar dalam visi
dan misi UPI, dalam renstra UPI telah menetapkan
kebijakan strategis yang dibuat untuk 5 (lima) tahun
mendatang, yang merupakan pokok Rencana Strategis
UPI.

selaras dengan Rencana Strategis di atasnya, maka
dalam perumusan visi dan misi MRL dilakukan melalui
proses cascading dari visi dan misi Fakultas
Pendidikan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (FPIPS) dan
mengacu pada statuta UPI, Renstra Universitas, dan
pedoman akademik UPI. Di samping itu, kebijakan
strategis UPI dijadikan sasaran strategis dalam
Rencana Strategis MRL dan diperkaya dengan tema-
tema strategis lain yang diidentifikasi berdasarkan hasil
analisis internal eksternal.
Agar visi, misi dan kebijakan-kebijakan strategis
tersebut dapat dieksekusi, dievaluasi, dan terkait satu
sama lain dengan program-program implementatif
yang akan dilaksanakan, maka dalam Rencana
Strategis Program Studi MRL menggunakan format
tabulasi seperti yang ada dalam Balanced Scorecard
sebagai alat bantu (tools) manajemen. Balanced
Scorecard merupakan suatu kerangka kerja
(framework) yang dapat membantu organisasi untuk
memvisualisasikan strateginya serta menterjemahkan
strategi tersebut menjadi tujuan-tujuan operasional
yang mengarahkan perilaku dan kinerja organisasi.
Tabulasi Balanced Scorecard terdiri dari kolom
Sasaran Strategis, Indikator Kinerja Utama (KPI = Key
Performance Indicators), Target yang akan dicapai
sesuai ukuran KPI, dan Inisiatif Strategis (Strategic
Initiative).
Sasaran Strategis menggambarkan apa saja yang
perlu dicapai dalam rangka menjalankan strategi,
Indikator Kinerj a Utama menggambarkan indikator apa
yang digunakan untuk memonitor kinerja sasaran
strategis, Target menggambarkan tingkat kinerja atau
perbaikan yang dibutuhkan atau perlu dicapai,
sedangkan Inisiatif Strategis menggambarkan proses
atau program kerja yang perlu dilakukan untuk
mencapai target.

Kompetensi dari lulusan Prodi MRL adalah :
- Menguasai teori serta konsep resort dan leisure berbasis
pariwisata berkelanjutan
- Mengkaji proses perencanaan, pengelolaan serta
pengembangan kepariwisataanberbasis alam, sosial-budaya
dan ekonomi
- Memanfaatkan ilmu pengetahuan teknologi dan seni dalam
kegiatan survei kajian resort dan leisure
- Menyusun hasil kajian ilmu kepariwisataan untuk mengambil
keputusan yang tepat berdasarkan analisis informasi dan data
- Menyusun disain atraksi, aktivitas wisata serta program
pengelolaan resort dan leisure
- Memiliki tanggung jawab untuk melaksanakan tugas secara
terukur terkait pengelolaan kepariwisataan baik mandiri
maupun kelompok
- Memiliki etika sopan santun dan keramahtamahan serta
mampu berkomunikasi secara global dan mengembangkan
jaringan kerja dengan kolega atau sejawat, baik di dalam
maupun di luar lembaga
