1. Dr T.

just discovered the error also he knew that it will lead to misleading about the practices that
they’ve been doing. The case shows how the unethical way of practice to ignore every error that can be
committed in every way. It is crucial that researchers understand how to analyze, evaluate, and apply
different research norms as well as how to respond and make decision in diverse circumstances. The
bulk decisions involve the simple application of ethical rules. Dr T’s error is not a misconduct, nor is his
failure to take corrective action. Most researchers, as well as many different policies and codes would
say that Dr. T should tell the journal (and any coauthors) about the error and consider publishing a
correction of data. It will help Dr. T to clean his name to the authorities and if he fail to submit another
publication, it will result to unethical because it would violate norms in relation to honesty and
objectivity research. This actions would be regarded as unethical by most scientist and some might even
think it is illegal in some cases. It will also violate some of the institutional policies.

2. In this case Dr. Wexford faces difficult choice. On the one hand, the ethical principle of transparency
requires her to share data with the other research team. Her funding agency may also have policies
requiring her to share data. If she shares data with the other team, they may publish the work of her
team. It takes a lot more of courage to do gathering data and it will deprive her and her team of
recognition and priority. It seems also that they have good argument on both side of the issue but Dr
Wexford should also think about the consequences that may happen if the data will be shared to the
other. Data sharing is one potential choice, providing the investigators sign a data use agreement. The
agreement could specify the data’s permission application, publication schedules, authorship, etc.
People may see different options due to limited imagination, bias, ignorance, or fear. In this case, the
person can decide whether to share or not.
