1. What does being a human person mean?

self-awareness, and rationality. This means that humans are capable of thinking, making decisions, and
acting intentionally. This distinguishes humans from other animals and objects that do not have the same
cognitive abilities. Another important feature of human personhood is moral agency, which means that
humans are capable of making moral judgments and acting according to ethical principles. This also
includes the ability to recognize and respect the moral agency of other humans.
