MARY AND THE SAINTS

LESSON PLAN
Mary in other Cultures and Religion
Prepared by: Sem. Dave Montero
Proposed lesson plan for the members of the knights of the altar
of Our lady of Unity, Parish

Introduction

This lesson plan is intended for the members of the knights of the altar who will have a Catechesis session during Sundays of

May in view of the Month of the Blessed Virgin Mary or Flores de Mayo. Exposing the young knights of the altar to the diversity of

ways in which Mary is integrated in different cultures and religions through series of images and videos and have them compare and

contrast the way Mary is being honored in three different beliefs. So as to appreciate devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary within the

Catholic Faith.

Objectives

1. To consider devotion to Mary as Catholic Christians especially as one of those who serve in the altar.

2. To understand how Mary is being honored not only by Catholics but even by those who are outside of it.

3. To be convinced of honoring Mary since Catholics are not alone of doing such in the aspects of faith.
