Evening Golf Details and Guidelines

2023 Season
1. Membership is open to all men and women who are members of the Greenbriar Golf Association.

2. Play will be on Tuesday’s only.

3. Shotgun start front nine only.

4. Start time 5:30pm, normally takes 1hr 30min to 1hr 45min to play.

5. Start Date: May 9.

6. Finish Date: Beginning of September.

7. Play format
a. Random foursomes to include two women and two men when possible. We try to pick
different four golfers to play each week with different start holes.

b. No need for subs, you can’t play one week call, email or text me by the weekend prior to play,
you will not be included in the random pick for that week. I will send out an email on the
Sunday prior to play on Tuesday requesting any one that cannot play respond to me by
Monday morning or before.

c. Will play “stroke play” individually competing against other women or men each week.

d. Women and men winners will be determined based on net scores. Handicaps issued by
Greenbriar Woodlands will be used to determine net scores. Weekly results will be posted
outside Golf Shop and on the website.

8. The Evening League follows all of the rules and regulations of the Greenbriar Woodlands Golf
Association and GBW Golf Playing Requirements in place at time of starting of play.

9. If you need a cart you must make arrangements with the golf shop during the hours they are
open. Cart will then be ready at the golf shop with key after shop is closed.

10. Score cards and copy of list indicating what hole each golfer starts on will be prepared one or two
days in advance and be outside Golf Shop. Score cards will have the names of the foursome, start
hole, type of game and any notices. Whoever picks up the score card please put a check next to
your name so others know the card was picked up already and who has it. We have a section on
Golf Association web page (www.gwga.weebly.com/leagues/evening league), list indicating hole
each golfer starts on will be on this website each week prior to play. Completed cards to be put in
one of two envelopes located on holes #1 and #9 posted on tree near greens.

11. Winner will be determined by net scores. Weekly net scores will be posted for all men and
women. Season average net score will be posted each week. The season winner will be
determined by the average net score. Golfer must play 2/3 or 66% of the total games to be
eligible. There also be recognition for most birdies and hole in one.

12. Should it be necessary to cancel play for one Tuesday due to inclement weather there will be an
email sent to you prior to 3:00 PM the day of scheduled play and will also be posted on the
website. If you are unsure first check the golf course conditions hotline 732-286-0304. Should the
course be closed or golf carts are not permitted the Evening League will be cancelled for that day.

13. No league fee will be charged. Win for bragging rights only.
