WHEN: Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, 8 a.m.The ride opened on Jan. 17, 2020 and
gained a lot of anticipation.

BACKGROUND: After years of collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering and


Lucas film, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened on May 31, 2019. A few
Star Wars icons joined in during the dedication ceremony on the
themed land with Executive Chairman, Bob Iger.

NEWS INTEREST: The ride duration is about 18 minutes. It was manufactured and designed
by Walt Disney Imagineering and is made to be a popular attraction. It’s a
combination of a trackless dark ride, a walk- through, and motion
simulator with a drop system. Stormtroopers and guests are put in the
middle of an altercation between the Resistance and the First Order.

OPPORTUNITIES: The media will have a multiple of opportunities to capture photos and
videos of the guests’ emotions as they experience the ride for
the first time. From the moment they are waiting in line to the end of the
ride experience, there will be a variety of content. B-roll
footage of the ride construction and demonstration will be
authorized through the park.
