Going into this class, I felt like my writing skills were better due to previous classes.

As the
course started, I felt confident to start out due to knowing a lot about resumes and cover letters. I have
had multiple jobs from when I was 16 to know and have had to fill out multiple applications and resumes
to even think about having a chance to be hired or considered. Starting out I felt confident. As the
course progressed, I started to struggle more and more. It could have been due to a hard time balancing
class and work, but I noticed my grades started degrading due to my writing skills not being up to par.
The White Paper showed me how much I started to struggle because the writing didn’t come naturally
to me. I had to do more research on the topic than normal, and I still didn’t do a good job. I think my
improvement really needs to be attention to detail as well as planning better to be at classes. I think I
started rushing too much near the end of the class to get these projects done, I became overwhelmed
and didn’t plan according to how in depth several of these assignments were.

My main goal is to always pass. But I always expect to be better of myself and to get good
grades. I didn’t achieve my extended goal and I’m not sure if I’ll even reach my goal of passing which I
am very ashamed of. I expected to be better of myself, and I didn’t meet my standard. What I would do
differently is better my time management. If I planned better and stayed dedicated to the work instead
of getting that I give up feeling or just not wanting to do the work, I think I could’ve achieved my goal
easier. I recommend planning ahead and starting the major projects early. Ask questions if you don’t
know them and go see the teacher in her office hours because she can help a lot since she teaches the
class and is very knowledgeable about what she teaches. I would also recommend students to try and
have a work balance life. I think I worked too much to be able to fully enjoy this class and to fully grasp
everything I have learned.

The assignment I am most proud of is the resume and cover letter. I enjoy writing about my
accomplishments and seeing where I can get with my resumes. I also love getting critiqued by them to
improve them any way I can to help me get a leg up on my competitors. If I could add any assignment to
this course, I would maybe do an argument vs interpretation essay. I think we get too caught up in the
issues and we get too heated in the moment. I think with an essay like that, it allows us to soak in other
people's perspective and maybe helps us understand something they're going through or an issue that
they have. The assignment I would edit is the AR assignment. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of it. I don’t think
I can benefit much from it, and I think AR is used in only a couple scenarios. It was a fun project, but I
struggled with it. Thank you so much for teaching me this semester and being so flexible with my
schedule!
