THE PROBLEM AND IT’S BACKGROUND

INTRODUCTION
Now a days the life style of the people is different. People feel uncomfortable and time

consuming for going crowded markets. So, E-Shopping is a boon as it saves lot of time.

Online shopping is a process whereby consumers directly buy goods, services etc. from

a seller without an intermediary service over the Internet. Shoppers can visit web

stores from the comfort of their house and shop as by sitting in front of the computer.

Online stores are usually available 24 hours a day and many consumers have internet

access both at work and at home. So it is very convenient for them to shop Online.

One of the most enticing factors about online shopping, particularly during holiday

season is, it alleviates the need to wait in long lines or search from a store for a

particular item. Variety of goods are available in online. So the researcher want to know

the preference of the consumers. So fifty respondents were met and data were

collected regarding their preference towards shopping online.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Online shopping benefits both businesses and consumers. Jia-xin et al and Kacen et al

showed the advantages of online shopping. Firstly, there is no specific time or place for

customers for e-shopping, as long as they are connected to the Internet they can shop

whenever they want and wherever they want, which is less time consuming with less

cost.

It is less time consuming since customers are not required to visit the geographical

store and is also inexpensive. Further, they can also visit more than one store at the

same time. Secondly, customers have more choice of products than in a physical store,

also, as the authors stated, some customers believe that they could find products which

are not available in markets, in other words, unique goods.

The Internet has provided consumers with global access to a limitless range of goods

available for purchase. With the promotion of e-commerce, online shopping is

developing as a new fashion of shopping (Jia-xin et al., 2010). It has changed the way

of buying and selling since the 1990s and is expected to be the most common way of

shopping in the future (Jain and Kulhar, 2019).

In spite of the fact that e-shopping is simpler, easier, and more comfortable than

traditional shopping, however, many people do not prefer e-shopping, as the quality of

products is not guaranteed. According to Jia-xin et al. (2010), e-shopping has a lot of

obstacles and problems related to virtual network security and the lack of merchant

credit, and in most cases, it does not have after-sale services. Monsuwe et al. (2004)

proposed a framework to explain the consumers’ attitudes toward e-shopping and the

intention behind that.

In study, the factors are discussed that attract the customer purchasing intention and

the case study taken on Indonesia and consequences and more analysis is done using

surveys and information extraction tools. In studies, and states that description about

expectations of online shopping in the future through advantages, the advantages and

disadvantages of online shopping are discussed, and pros and cons of online shopping

are described respectively. In,and , the description is given on online shopping website
