RESEARCH DESIGN

Descriptive survey design was used in this study. Questionnaire was used to
come with the intended result. The data gathered were tabulated, tallied, analyzed
and statically treated.

Descriptive Research – is defined as a research method that describes the


characteristics of the population or phenomenon that is being studied. In other
words, descriptive research primary focuses on describing the nature of
demographic segment without focusing on why a certain phenomenon occurs.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

The students researchers asked approval to conduct this study to Dr. Arnel
C. Doctolero, The College Administrator of Ilocos Sur Community College and
yhe SHS Coordinator, Dr. Relita Cheryl Pelita Dolorico. The study was then
conducted on the month of June each student researcher interviewed and observed
the Effects of Oil Price Increase. After collecting all the data, the researchers with
the help of the statistician tabulated and tallied the survey and the results would
hopefully be the basis to measure the Effects of Oil Price Increase Among Tricycle
Drivers in Bantay Ilocos Sur.

C. DATA GATHERING INSTRUMENT

The questionnaire was the main instrument that used for this study. The
questionnaire consists of 5 items in a 5 point likert scale. The 5 items were
categorized into three areas such as Low Income Profit Per Day, No Savings, and
Unable to Afford Basic Necessities.
The items of the questionnaire will be scored in 5 points as follows.
5 – STRONGLY AGREE
4 – AGREE
3 – NEUTRAL
2 – DISAGREE
1 – STRONGLY DISAGREE
