Scripture Is Fulfilled

Before we get into the story, however, it's important to realize that Jesus' crucifixion with
other criminals was no accident of history. It is a fulfillment of prophecy:

"He was assigned a grave with the wicked,

and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth....
He poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors." (Isaiah 53:9, 12)

John 17:3, Jesus defined eternal life saying, “This is eternal life, that they may know you,
the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
