It is my pleasure to write a letter of reference for Ms. Hannah Smith, a very valued and loved
teacher, who is known for her patience and commitment. In the last 3 years of knowing Hannah
as a piano teacher, I have been so pleased with the growth she has shown both as a teacher and
person.

As a young teacher, Hannah had quickly taken on many responsibilities, and had to adjust to
teaching private piano lessons to students with different learning styles and behavior problems.
In all of my interactions with Hannah, I have always admired how open she is to new ideas,
applying them to teach her students and trying to explore new ones. Working with students
starting as young as 5, requires a lot of patience, and creativity. Hannah through her patience,
flexibility, and calmness had successfully helped her students not only overcome challenges but
gain confidence and even perform in recitals.

Hannah managed to understand how to teach music to students who have ADHD and anger
issues, and was able to win their trust, understand the reason behind their attitudes and build a
connection with them. Hannah cares about her students, and tries to find games and educational
tools to bring to the lessons and share with families to do at home. I am always pleased with the
feedback we receive about Hannah regarding her patience, kindness, and ability to keep students
engaged and enjoying lessons.

I am delighted that Ms. Hannah is applying for a position as a general music teacher in your
district. Hannah is a great asset to our music school, and I have no doubt that she will thrive and
have a great and positive impact on the students she will come to meet and teach.
