The Brief
Part 1. Choose one nation. Find the 2022 data for that country’s balance of payments.
Please provide your conclusion of the current account, including the export and import,
comparative advantage and disadvantage, and understand its surplus or deficit.
Part 2. Recently, Vietnam has experienced changes in its export structure. Previously,
Vietnam exported more agricultural products (for example, rice). Currently, the country’s
crucial export products are electrical machinery and equipment. Based on the
comparative advantage, gravity model, and trade integration, please study the Vietnamese
export dynamics and explain this shift.

What you need to do:

Step 1: Group Allocation
Spend some time networking with fellow students during and outside workshops to form
a group for this Assignment (nb: 4- 6 group members is recommended). You will need to
create a team and self-assign into one team.
It is recommended that an initial meeting be held to assign a Team Leader, set some basic
rules/expectations (grade aspirations, contributions, etc.), and discuss the assignment
brief in detail before allocating tasks among members. Each team member should take
notes during meetings.
Step 2: Research conduct

2
Conduct research by using the below eight stages (see the recommended text for detailed
analysis conducting stage descriptions):
1: Identify and develop your topic
2: Do a preliminary search for information
3: Locate materials
4: Evaluate your sources
5: Make notes
6: Write your paper
7: Cite your sources properly
8: Proofread

For example, the first stage is to identify and develop your topic. Once you have placed
your case, it may help state it as a question. For example, suppose you are interested in
finding out about the volume of exported rice in Vietnam. In that case, you might pose
the question, "What are the causes of the export of rice and agricultural product
changes?" By posing your subject as a question, you can more easily identify the main
concepts or keywords to be used in your research.
Recommended Structure:
Your assignment should be presented in report format and include numbered sections and
headings, such as those below. The report must also be presented professionally in font
size, spacing, margins, design, and referencing.
