ANO ANG IYONG PAKAKAHULUGAN SA LUMANG TIPAN

NG BIBLIYA AT ANG KAHALAGAHAN NITO?

(What is your definition of the Old Testament of the Bible and its
importance?)

Well my definition of the Old Testament of the Bible is that the Old Testament is the first
and oldest of three divisions in the Bible which tells about the history and religion of the
Jewish people. In my opinion the Old Testament is very important to me because it teaches
me how to live and what are important things in life like respecting your parents and
neighbors too. Since I'm a Christian and I want to learn about my religion, I think that the
Old Testament is very important for me because it helps me to learn more about Jesus.
What I mean is that if Jesus had not existed, we would not be Christians today; there
would be no Christianity. We would only be following the Old Testament. The importance
of this division to Christians is that these books were written and assembled by Jews before
Jesus Christ lived on earth. They are still revered as a sacred book by most Christians, who
believe it contains prophecies about Jesus Christ. The Old Testament is both a religious
and historical text. The history of the Jewish people, from their arrival in the land of
Canaan to their captivity by Assyria and Babylonia, is recounted in much of the Old
Testament. The Old Testament also contains the prophecies about Jesus Christ, as well as
other writings that are considered sacred to Christians. There are 39 books in the Old
Testament which consist of 24 books in Protestant Bibles and 46 books in Catholic and
Orthodox Bibles.
