according to the campaign to end loneliness it's said to be that twenty five million
people suffer from loneliness, with numbers rising, it's becoming increasingly
worrying and needs to be addressed to show people help is out there and they arnt the
only one feeling like this.

over 55,000 people took part in the bbc’s loneliness experiment, making it the largest
in the world. There is often a stereotype that it’s usually just the older generation that
loneliness and isolation strikes and of course it can but the results also showed that on
average younger people are even lonelier. 40% of 16-24 year olds, ofter feel very
lonely. It also showed that people of all ages that feel discriminated against for any
reason this being their sexuality or due to a disability are more likely to feel lonely.
people who feel lonley often feel ashamed about it and only a 3rd believe that
loneliness is about being on your own whilst the rest thinks it’s more about feeling no
one understands you leading you to feel disconnected from the world.

so what can be done to prevent loneliness, study’s show that dedicating yourself to
work or a hobbie, joining a social club, or changing the way you think, this is easier
said than done but there is a lot of psychological strategies that may benefit in helping
you find confidence and trust in others.
Another solution would be to reach out and talk to friends and family about your
feelings for support.
whilst these may not work for everyone it’s important to try and see what suits you.

A charity, i've been in close touch with called Age UK put forward 2 experts for me to speak with
who are phone befrienders...

Loneliness is something everyone will struggle with at some point in there lives, it's very
important to know your not alone, and there are ways to feel better.
Even the loudest cries can be the quietest.
