C. Discussion
 Definition of School Culture
- School culture is the shared beliefs, attitudes and values of
stakeholders in a school as well as the relationships between school
staff, students and families.

 Categorization of School Culture

1. Positive School Culture
- A caring atmosphere exists, and teachers have a sense of responsibility
for students’ learning.

2. Negative School Culture

- Individuals involved in school exhibit negative behavior and
relationship.

 Elements of School Culture

1) Attitude
An influential aspect of school culture is the attitude that those within the school express
on a daily basis.
2) Parent Engagement
If parents are engaged with the learning process and are active in the school community
then this will engender a more positive school culture.

3) Communication
If clear channels of communication exist between different levels within the school as
well as between staff and parents, this will help to foster a positive culture.

D. Generalization
The culture of a school differs from one to the next, depending on their faith,
objectives and challenges. It is just within our efforts and character—as students,
teachers, parents, stakeholders— that builds a school culture. If we altogether create a
positive environment, then it also creates a positive school culture.
