Ralph is speechless and
thoughtless. This connects to
the song “Where Is My
Mind?”, because in the song
it gives off a “lost in the
thoughts” and “I don’t know
what to do anymore” vibe
that Ralph is feeling here. He
didn’t know what to think
anymore given the situation
he is in.

This is the dialogue between Piggy
and Jack fighting. This connects to
the song “We Cry Together”,
because in the song the couple are
fighting extensively and offending
each other with insulting names.
Jack is arguing and offending Piggy
by calling him an insulting name
which can connect to the lyrics in
the song.

This dialogue is from Ralph
after realizing he contributed
in the murder of his mate.
This connects to the song
“Bohemian Rhapsody”,
because part of the lyrics
represent a scared person
making mistakes in life. Ralph
feels guilty.

Piggy does not feel remorse or
guilt for Simon’s death. This
connects to “Dead To Me”,
because the lyrics represent a “I
don’t care, let’s move on”
mentality. Piggy has that type of
mentality shown here. He
doesn’t feel guilty for the death
of Simon, unlike Ralph.

“Ghost Town” by Kanye West
“He gave himself up to them now for the
first time on the island; great, shuddering
spasms of grief that seemed to wrench his
whole body.”
PG 200 (CHARACTERIZATION,
SYMBOL, THEME)
Ralph felt a big relief after being
able to get out of the island. This
connects to “Ghost Town”, because
in the song, there’s a part that
shows relief and ease. All of the
characters in the book have been
through a lot, and for some of them
to be able to make it out alive is
astonishing.
