Title of the Project: Giving from the Heart, to Serve and Help: Donation for Victims of
Typhoon Agaton
Project Description
Giving from the Heart, to Serve and Help: Donation for Victims of Typhoon Agaton is a
program that aims to give monetary donations for the Victims of the Tropical Storm Agaton through the
Philippine Red Cross. This allows the students of BCS12 to provide some support and to contribute in
making the world a better place. This program promotes a selfless act that encourages BSC12 students
in achieving a greater sense of growth through serving others.
As of 13 April 2022, the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) previously Tropical Cyclone Agaton has
dissipated, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services
Administration (PAGASA). However, as per the DSWD DROMIC Report regarding this Tropical
Storm, there are 55,977 families or 218,855 persons affected in 184 barangays in Regions VII,
VIII, XI and Caraga, and there are 2,890 families or 11,167 persons currently taking temporary
shelter in 100 evacuation centers in Regions VII, XI and Caraga. Hence, the students from the
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, BCS12 will conduct a donation drive for the victims
of the said tropical storm. This program intends to assist and give in support of our fellow
kababayans who have been impacted by Tropical Storm Agaton.
Target Beneficiaries
The victims of Typhoon Agaton are the intended recipients of the program, especially the
families in Regions VII, XI, and Caraga who have been severely impacted by the storm.
