1.0 SCOPE:

1.1 This specification is intended to capture the chemical and mechanical properties of HSLA steel per NBR
6656, Grade LNE-50.

3.0 MATERIALS AND MANUFACTURE:

3.1 This steel is hot rolled and microalloyed using niobium, titanium and vanadium (either singly or in
combination

4.0 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION:

4.1 The chemical composition shall meet the requirements listed in Table 1. All elements are denoted in wt
% as a maximum allowed unless otherwise indicated.

5.0 MECHANICALTEST REQUIREMENTS:

5.1 Tensile testing shall be performed in accordance with ASTM E8 or an equivalent method. Values shall
meet the requirements shown in Table 2.
