    Dear Dr. Jones,

    The University of South Alabama prides itself on our excellent staff that goes above and beyond
    to fulfill their roles as educators.

    This year we had numerous candidates eligible to receive the Teaching Excellence Award. This
    award is given to the teacher that demonstrates the utmost dedication and commitment to their
    students and teaching.

    Although all of the nominees were highly deserving of this award, and many fit the above
    description, we, unfortunately, cannot choose everyone. We regret to inform you that we have
    chosen to go with a different staff member to win this accolade.

    We thank you for your hard work towards our school as a whole, the Department of
    Communications, and the entire student body. Your passionate enthusiasm to see the success of
    students does not go unnoticed. We look forward to seeing what more you will accomplish
    throughout your years here at the University of South Alabama.
