Level High School Teacher Mr. Arosman Aguilar
Frequency 6 Hours Grade 8th Grade
Week: January 30th to February 03rd, 2023.
Unit I: Transformation and congruence.
Topic: Tools of geometry: Segment length and midpoints/ Angles measures and angles bisectors.
Purposes: To establish relationships among points, straight lines, and planes; use transformations to
draw congruent figures determining their properties.

Greets and Instructions:

In this lesson, Students have worked with geometric terms and figures since the elementary grades.
This course revisits many ideas that may be familiar to students but does so systematically to build
a deductive system. The Distance and Midpoint Formulas are key tools of coordinate geometry.
Students will write coordinate proofs later in this course and they will find that these two formulas,
along with facts about the slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines, are enough to prove a wide
range of theorems.
Resources: pencils, colored pencils notebook, Go Math 4th Grade Book Volume 1, Computer,
Whiteboard, Markers.

The Pythagorean Theorem states that a2 + b2 = c2, where a and b are the

lengths of the legs of a right triangle and c is the length of the hypotenuse. You
can use the Distance Formula to apply the Pythagorean Theorem to find the
distance between points on the coordinate plane on pages 9 and 10

20 minutes
3. You can use the midpoint formula to find the midpoint of a
segment
on the coordinate plane.

20 minutes

4. With the video´s help in the interactive student edition find the
distance between the point.
