How to Make the Telescope Paper Model

3 First, take the template with tab ‘1’. Roll it up and glue tab ‘1’ to the other side.

4 Repeat the previous step with tab ‘2’.

5 Repeat the previous step with tab ‘3’.

6 Now, take the last template. Glue tab ‘4’ to the other side.

7 Next, put glue onto tab ‘5’. Stick the underside of shape ‘6’ on top.

8 Then, put glue onto shape ‘6’ and stick the end of the telescope on top of shape ‘6’ and
some of tab ‘5’.

9 Finish the end part of the telescope by gluing shape ‘7’ to the part above it.

10 Before you attach the end part to the tubes, you need to assemble the extending parts!

• To do this, take the smallest tube and the tube with the skull and crossbones on.

• Put the narrow end of the small tube into the wider end of the tube with the skull
and crossbones.

• Then, take these two tubes and put the narrow ends into the last tube (into the side
with the tabs on).

• Feed the tubes all the way down. Now your telescope will extend!

11 Finally, attach the end part. Add glue to tabs ‘8’, ‘9’ and ‘10’, then carefully push the
pentagon-shaped end part on top. Place your fingers into the hole to carefully secure
the three flaps.

12 Once the glue has dried, you can try out your paper telescope! Gently pull on the end
of the smallest tube to extend your telescope; don’t pull too hard or you won’t be able
to get it back in!

Now, why not climb to the top of your ship’s crow’s nest and be on the lookout?

Shout, ‘Land ahoy!’ when you see an island through your telescope!
