Data Do’s and Don’ts for Technology Implementation and Beyond

DO’s
 Use the internet responsibly and respect others privacy - don't log in as someone else to read
their emails or mess with their online profiles .
 Do follow the rules that university have set regarding the time you are allowed to use the
internet, the purpose of your use of the internet, the sites you are allowed to visit, and the
limitations they have set.
 Know what information your Internet provider makes available to others.
 Set limits for you use of the Internet.
 Do be selective.
 Do create positive content.
 When you use a public computer make sure you logout of the accounts you’ve accessed
before leaving the terminal.
DON’Ts
× Don’t bring your personal router
× Don’t sees any images of violence, nudity , pornography, sex, and other contents like that.
× Don’t fill out any survey, membership, or application forms asking for your personal
information from an unsecured site.
× Don’t allow others to harass you or put you in an uncomfortable situation when using instant
messaging or while in a chat room. Cyber Bullying is WRONG.
× Don’t Post your personal information or pictures of yourself on the internet.
× Don’t share your IDs with others.
