4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity
The Teacher will show a motivational video consisting of a circle and its
10 Minutes parts.

“This morning we will discuss another lesson but before we will proceed to
our proper discussion let us have first an activity. I will divide the class into
two teams. This side will be the Team A and the other side will be the
Team B.

4.2 Activity Okay, are you familiar with the game “BRING ME”? The instruction is you
will bring the objects that I will ask from you and anyone from the group
who can bring the exact object to me, each group member will get 5 points
each.

You will only be given a maximum of 1 minute to find the particular object.
5 Minutes
Are you ready? Objects to bring:
 Bottom
 Coins
 Circular bracelets
 Round strip of paper
 Circular plate  Cover of Circular food container or any container
 Water bottle cap The winner is..... Thank you for your cooperation class!
Let’s give ourselves a VIVA applause!

From the activity that we have done what do you think is our lesson for
today? Anyone? Yes? Brilliant idea, so our topic for today is all about
circles, but we will not just discuss what a circle is, we will also discuss the
terms related to a circle and its parts.

DID YOU KNOW?

Guangzhou Circle is located at Chinese city Guagzhou.

Designed by Di Pasquale of Milan studio AM Project, the
doughnut-shaped building is the headquarters of Hongda
Xingye Group. It is also home to Guangdong Plastic
Exchange, world's largest trading center for raw plastic
products. There is a circle in the center of the building
which makes it hollow and when reflected in the river, it
forms the shape of number eight.
4.3 Analysis

10 Minutes

The teacher will discuss about the Circle

A circle is a shape consisting of all points in a plane that are at a given
distance from a given point, the centre. Equivalently, it is the curve traced
out by a point that moves in a plane so that its distance from a given point
is constant. The distance between any point of the circle and the centre is
called the radius.

Specifically, a circle is a simple closed curve that divides the plane into

two regions: an interior and an exterior. In everyday use, the term "circle"
may be used interchangeably to refer to either the boundary of the figure,
or to the whole figure including its interior; in strict technical usage, the
circle is only the boundary and the whole figure is called a Disc.

The Radius is the distance from the center outwards.

4.4 Abstraction

The Diameter goes straight across the circle, through the center.

25
Minutes
The Circumference is the distance once around the circle.
The chord of a circle is a straight line that connects two points on the
circumference of a circle

We rename a circle by its central point.

We rename circle by the central point.

We can Identify the arc of a circle by the curve edges.

The central angle in a circle is the angle formed by two radius lines. An

inscribed angle is the angle formed by points on the circle's circumference
4.5 Application
The teacher will ask how we use circle in our daily lives. The teacher will let
10 Minutes them apply what you have learned to real-life situations.

4.6 Assessment

Analysis of Learners'
Products
On a 1/4 piece of paper, draw a circle with a center A, with 1
5 Minutes
diameter namely, segments AC, , whose chords are AC, DF, CF.

4.7 Assignment Enhancing / improving Study in advance about, inscribed angle and arcs of a circle.
