NT - CDM Theory - UG
1. Course Overview:
To contribute to the solutions of various engineering problems an engineer must acquire many
skills, one of which is the knowledge electric circuit analysis (network theory). It is important to
learn how to determine the goal of a particular problem, to work with information given to develop
a plan of attack and to implement the plan to obtain a solution. The course has been designed to
introduce fundamental principles of circuit theory commonly used in engineering research and
science applications. This course aims to analyze the linear time invariant electronic circuits. The
course starts with the fundamental rule of electric circuit theory ‘Kirchhoff’s laws’. The students
will develop the skill to perform circuit analysis using Kirchhoff’s laws, node and mesh analysis,
superposition, Norton and Thevenin’s theorems. Students also get introduced to steady state
analysis of the circuits containing R,L and C and phasor analysis, network functions for single port
and two ports and two-port network parameters.
