TASK 2

“Home”

It was said that our old home was built centuries ago. One time, my great grandmother
told us that she and her beloved husband which is our great grandfather built this home
for their family. They had a lot of properties and this home is one of them, they stayed
here, expanded their family, made plans, and enjoyed the presence of one another in
this home. Thus, she mentioned that this home saw how each child departed as time
flies, how each of them grew. At first, she was uncertain of seeing how each of her kids
grow and goes their own life, however, she realized it was the result of their hard work
and love.

Not so long, her beloved husband died, nevertheless, she tried to stay and it was never
easy. After every one of her children grew apart, she was left alone in this house,
therefore, she moved out and stayed in her second daughter’s house, next to the house
they built. Hence, she gave this home to her oldest daughter and her family, which is my
grandmother, and soon to be the home of my mother. After years, a family stayed here,
this house will never be empty of people and will continue to make memories, this
house of bricks will be the souvenir of our name which came from two people who once
dreamed of a home.

TASK 2

A home completes a life, isn’t it? It’s a visual representation of your success, especially
when you had the house you always dreamed of. And here I am, already thinking of the
home I would like to have.

I started to draw a contemporary house just enough for me and my family, with eco-
friendly materials and design with a focus on clean lines and natural textures, with a
large yard for the plants my mother would love to grow and outdoor facilities that would
look beautiful and people-friendly; a car parking area where two cars would fit. Its color
would be modern, such as natural colors of brown woods, snowfall, and a dark secret.

The inside of the house would be spacious, the palette would be snowfall white, tint of
brown woods, grey, and natural green. The interior would be filled with indoor plants
which I love because it makes me feel relaxed and it gives me the feeling of home. I
prefer the house to be surrounded more by huge windows, letting the natural light inside
the home. A home doesn’t need to be wide and huge, the most important feature in a
home is the people who live there.

I closed my drawing book and engraved this dream home of mine as a motivation to
continue and keep on moving.
