1 Explanatory note
The device may only be installed by our customer service or by persons authorized by Analytik Jena.
It is imperative that at least one person designated to operate the device is present during the briefing given by the ser-
vice technician.
Please provide us with confirmation that all the installation requirements have been met. We will be happy to send you
more detailed information if required.

2 Installation conditions
2.1 Installation location

The installation location is on the first floor or accessible by a
suitable elevator.
If "no", please describe the conditions:
It is possible to reach the installation building with a trans-

porter.
If "no", please describe the conditions:
The device will be delivered directly to the final device location

by a transportation company.
The delivery by this company requires the presence of a com-
petent person.
The device must be positioned in such a way that allows easy
access from all sides. Alternatively, a heavy duty roller table
can be used.
The installation location is free of
¡ Direct sunlight or heat radiation from heaters
¡ High dust contamination
¡ Heavy mechanical impacts and vibration
¡ Magnetic fields
¡ Drafts
¡ Corrosive vapors, with the air in the room preferably be-

2.2 Power supply
The device operates on single-phase alternating current. The installation of the electrical equipment in the laboratory
must comply with the IEC 38 standard. Uninterruptible power supply units must be used in the event of severe power
disturbances.
4 grounded power outlets are required for the basic device (with PC, monitor and liquid autosampler).
An additional power outlet must be provided for each of the following optional modules:

2.3 Gas supply
The gas supply to the basic device can be nitrogen or argon. Please select an option. Oxygen is required for the optional
solids modules.

2.4 Control computer
The control computer can be supplied by Analytik Jena, but it must be ordered as a separate item. The control com-
puter must meet the following minimum requirements:

Operating system Windows 10 or higher, Windows 7/8.1 is

supported, 32 or 64 bit
Internet connection during installation is recommended. When connected to the Internet, updates to the operating sys-
tem as well as to additional software (Microsoft Office) are ensured. Remote access to the device is then also possible
for remote diagnosis. Customer consent is always required for remote diagnosis.
The analysis device can be operated without Internet connection!
Administrator rights are required on the control computer for the installation.
If the control computer is to be integrated into a network, this must take place before installing the software. Installa-
tion within a virtual environment constitutes an exceptional case. Consult with the Analytik Jena Service department or
the providing partner organization for this.

Internet access is available during installation of the control software.
NET Framework 3.5 can be activated for installation.
Administrator rights are ensured during installation. Alternatively, the customer's IT de-
partment can provide support.

3 Installation preparation and required reagents

The customer must provide the following reagents and standard solutions for installation:

Sodium carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate (TIC) /
Calcium carbonate (HT 1300, man. TIC solids module) /
All chemicals must meet the purity grade p.a. (pro analysi – analytically pure).

All the reagents required for installation are provided by the customer.
4 Device layout and space requirements

The basic device has been designed as a compact bench-top device. The required space depends on all components
that make up the measuring station.
Further components of the measuring station:
¡ The PC, monitor and printer may be placed on a separate side table.
¡ An acid-resistant waste container can be placed on or under the bench.
Optional modules:
¡ The AS 10e and AS 21hp autosamplers are attached to the right side wall of the basic device. Alternatively, the au-
tosamplers can be placed next to the device on the right.
¡ The AS vario, AS vario ER and EPA Sampler autosamplers must be positioned to the right of the device.
¡ The HT 1300 and the manual TIC solids module are placed to the left of the basic device.
