1. What are three reasons why process control is important?

It is important because knowing accurate methods in controlling
different variables in manufacturing a product can ensure the safety,
reduce irregularity and increase efficiency.

2. What is a control loop?

Control loop can be an open or closed loop. It is a group of
instruments that worked together to achieve a certain goal. It can form
a system configuration that will provide certain action.

3. What is a set point?

It is a desired value of a process. It is the required controlled variable
to operate a process.

4. Explain the basic principle of capsule sensors in pressure measurement?

Capsule sensor is a sensor use in a pressure measurement or even in
controlling. It has two diaphragm that been welded together on their
circumference and are almost exclusively corrugated. One of the best
features of this sensor is that it can hold large amount of pressure, it
means it is good to used in a large anticipated process line. It can
withstand the pressure up to 300 bar or 30,000 kPa.

5. Explain the principle of the piezoelectric sensor in pressure measurement?

Piezoelectric is a device that when you applied a physical pressure on
it, it tends to generate an electricity to some small electrical loads.
6. What is Bernoulli’s Principle?
It is used in a principle of an orifice plate. If you need to measure the
pressure inside a pipe, you need to cut the pipe and put an orifice plate
and after that put a plunge to avoid leakage of a substance. The
restriction of flow rate of a process material to a pipeline with orifice
plate will corresponds to a particular reading.

7. Why Tab is provided in an Orifice plate?

To know the:
 It is indicated that the orifice is present in the line
 Kind of material orifice plate is installed
 Tag number of orifice plate
 The mark on the inlet of an orifice plate
 Diameter of orifice plate
8. How can we carry out the piping for the differential pressure flow on the
transmitter on gas?
By on gas service. The transmitter is mounted above the orifice plate
because gas has the property of self-venting and secondly because of
condensate forming.
9. How can we carry out the piping for the differential pressure flow on the
transmitter on slurry process material?
By on liquid lines. The transmitter is mounted below the orifice plate
because the liquid has the property of self-draining. We can use a
Segmental Orifice plate for this process

10. What do you call that stainless steel pipe connecting the orifice plate and
the transmitter?
-Impulse line using seamless stainless tubing
