Evaluation

The purpose of my flyer and poster is to spread the word about my new publishing company,
and to serve the marketing objective of informing people about the advantages of using my
services. My business will offer high-quality prints at a lesser price and has hired people to
enable us to offer our customers services at a lower cost.

For my flyer, one of my most important features is the gold border on each of my images.
The purpose for this feature is to catch the eyes of the reader but not too much as to take
his/her attention away from the actual information on the flyer. I suggest that the execution of
this feature could be improved if I had mad all of the borders the same instead of a slightly
different border for each one, for example, one border is thicker than the other one, or one
border is a different shade of gold than the other one.

Another important feature of my flyer would be the ‘EXCLUSIVE OFFER, 20%

DISCOUNT’ on the first page of the flyer in the middle. I made sure to emphasize on the text
so that the customer will be able to see it clearly, therefore by offering a discount, we hope to
entice customers to order our services. For this feature, I believe that I executed it excellently.

For my poster, one of my most important features was the choice of text as the main subject
of the poster. “The highest quality printing services island wide!” the purpose of this sentence
is to come across as a confident and true statement to the customer, thus interesting the
viewer. I believe that the color of the text was a bit off, as I aimed for a solid gold color
instead of yellow. Other than that, I believe that I executed it very well.

Another important feature of my poster would be the image of a building which I solely
created using Inkscape. The image has a 3-D effect which looks attractive towards the
customers. The caption says ‘Best publishing business in town! Come now!’ Although I
believe that I could have changed the font and made it look a bit more modern and attractive.
Aside from that, I am very proud of this image.

After thorough evaluation, the purpose of my flyer and poster have been achieved as it does
have the capability to attract customers and it does provide an ample amount of information
on both of the pieces. Although, after thorough evaluation of my performance, it did have
some faults in it such as not thoroughly planning ahead before starting crucial work (not
preparing a model flyer for me to reference off of, mistaking the arrangement of the flyer
sides, and forgetting that we were supposed to use the text already given to us).

I suggest to my future self that I should plan more before-hand and make sure that I have a
detailed understanding on what I’m going to do and how I’m going to execute the plan.
