What is Freelancing ?
According to Freelancing School, freelancing means to work as an
independent company rather than be employed by someone
else. Individual that engage in Freelancing are referred to as
FREELANCERS.

In 2020, there was an outbreak of Covid-19 that had business

shutdown worldwide amidst other economic crises where
countless lives were lost. This made it harder for physical
businesses to function as they would if there weren't Covid-19.
So many shifted to the work-from-home model.One of those
things that served as a means of survival for people working from
home is FREELANCING. By extension, Fiverr comes to the fore
when you mention this word.
 How does it work ?
Freelancers accept payment in return for providing some sort of service.
The agreement is generally part-time or short term and sometimes, people
pay freelancers to work a set number of hours per week or per month.

Unlike the 9-5 workers, if you choose to be a freelance worker,

you will have control over your workload, the clients or
company you work with, the jobs to take on, your pay rate.

Fiverr provides a streamlined method for both freelancers and business owners to interact with one another,
Instead of sellers to send out bids for jobs, they can sign up for free, list their gigs, and set their prices.
Meanwhile, buyers can simply browse through different categories to purchase gigs.
Simple Terminologies
Here is the key terminologies used by Fiverrians

Buyer: a buyer is a person who is a recipient of your service. You can also them your client.

Seller: a freelancer or seller is an individual that offers a service.

Gig: Basically means a service

Niche: Usually used by freelancers to represent their area of specialization

Foreign Account: A type of Fiverr account verified by a Phone number that’s different from your country’s
local number. In another words, this is an account that you create with a location that’s different from your
present location.

Impressions: An indicator that measure the gig page views

Clicks: An indicator that measure the number of visitors on gig profile

Fiverr Algorithms: A programmed bot that regulates the placement of gigs in the search engine.

Knowing about Fiverr By identity, I’m referring to a means where Fiverr can confirm
Identity Verification certain information about you which is through your I.D card.
As a Nigerian, the acceptable formats for identity verification is
by using the following cards:
a. International Passports
b. Driving License
c. Voters Card
N:B Fiverr rarely accepts the NIN card, so do not rely on it. I
have seen someone that lost his ranking account because he
could not provide the correct ID card when they request for it. I
always advise my students from the outset to have it on ground
even though it might take a while before they request for it

Tips— you can always create an account using other people’s

information. Seek their permission and request for their cards. I
will share more methods you can use to bypass this obstacle as
we proceed further in our course.
