Summer School 2019: 7 days of intensive exposure of Comparative Materia

Case Story- 1:

This is an interesting case of a single Mother in her late forty. She developed
oedema of foot after her only daughter moved to University. She feels very
resentful about this and cannot cope with this reality. She cries quietly. The only
thing that is stimulating her is the strong coffee which she loves. She does not
like pasta or any slimy food. She also suffers from constipation. She also have
sweating during eating. The above salient symptoms were enough for me to
prescribe one of our leading polychrest. What is the medicine?

Case Story- 2:

A middle aged woman suffers from melancholia and she does not like to call it
depression but she feels really low. She is also a single mother, works hard to
support the family. On going through the life story she mentioned that she is
extremely dissatisfied at work and has been for last 4 years. Boss is rude and
she feels like leaving the job but she cannot in this economic environment. She
always looks forward to the weekend when she walks the dog by the sea side
which totally refreshes her and enables her to return to work on Mondays. The
medicine took care of her within 9 months. So what is it?

Case Story- 3:

This is a case story of a young school going girl, aged 14 years suffers from
headache and for which different tests has been done but no conclusive results.
Optometrist does not think there is any problem with her refraction and even
though she tried a pair of glasses but headache persists. She also suffers from
severe period pains and complaints about heaviness and fullness in the lower
abdomen during period. She has bad skin which is quite dry and has to
moisturize very often otherwise she looks very red (++) and congested. This is a
story of this young irritable (especially on awakening, without any cause),
impatient girl who is dissatisfied about life. One of our greatest polychrest
restored her to normalcy in all respect within a short period of time. What was
the prescription, please?

Case Story- 4:

This is the story of a menopausal lady in her late 50’s; has been diagnosed with
ovarian tumour. She also suffers from extreme debility and severe degree of
vertigo. When the vertigo comes she tries to close the eyes and sit still, which
make the vertigo better. But interestingly soon she closes her eyes, get drenched
with menopausal hot sweat. One single prescription made her better.
Glory goes to Hahnemann and his beautiful Homoeopathy!

Case Story- 5:

Here is a case story of a debilitated, constipated woman in her mid-30’s suffering

from pain in the kidney area, which has been diagnosed as a stone. The pain
aggravates in the early evening, around 6pm ish. She also suffers from weakness
whenever the pain comes. She described herself a sensitive person but can be
stubborn about decisions. What was the prescription?

Case Story- 6:

A young boy of aged 12 years, suffers from night terrors. The problem started
after a violent fight that broke up in the school between two other lads. Because
of these night terrors he cannot not sleep at night, though he feels sleepy in the
morning. He is also having difficulty in turning the lamp off in his room at night.
He and his parents are really stressed about this and wishes to resolve this
problem quickly. One interesting this his Mum said confidentially that he has an
issue about his height; he likes to say that he quite tall for his age (though not)!
The prescription made him better in seven months!

Case Story- 7:

I have seen this patient, when she was 9 years old; a pretty girl but
unfortunately suffers from bedwetting almost every night. She also suffers from
constipation and apparently she described to her Mum that there is lot of mucus
in the tissue, while cleaning. She had a history of delayed milestone → delayed
walking. Another interesting aspect of the case was, as her mother described
that she is extremely weepy and cries+++ from the slightest cause.

Case Story- 8:

This is a story of a debilitated (++) man in his early 70’s who suffers from cough
almost every winter, for last 6 winters. This is making him extremely depressed
and he things he will die from pneumonia. His weakness is also progressing. He
coughs a long time in order to expectorate. He also suffers from post nasal drip
(++) for last 5--6 years. That was sufficient clue to me to prescribe the medicine.

Case Story- 9:

It's a story of a young Indian girl suffering from Polycystic ovarian

syndrome/disease. She got married about 6 years back and has no children. Her
husband works in Dubai and only visits home once in a year. She looks after the
elderly in-laws that’s the reason she cannot join her husband in Dubai. She is
very sad about this. She also suffers from extreme physical and mental
exhaustion & weakness and is gradually losing weight. She suddenly looses
strength during walking! Gradually losing interest in life; does not like to meet

up with her friends. Another complaint she has: lots of sweating in hands
(palms). This was suffice to make my prescription for her. Please try the
prescription: Remember: Simple Homoeopathy works!

Case Story- 10:

This young man came to the slum clinic in India with lots of gas+++ which is not
better by belching. He has noticed few vegetables produce lot of gas, especially
when he has salad with onion and cucumber he really feels bloated and full of
gas. He also mentioned that he feels weak (++) and sad (++) on awakening, every
morning, without any particular reason; for 16 months!

Case Story- 11:

This is a woman in her mid-40’s suffering from weakness+ and heaviness+++ of

limbs, which is immensely aggravated by walking. This heaviness is almost
incapacitating her. She is an anxious, impatient lady who craves sweets,
chocolates and very thirsty for warm drinks. She also mentioned that small
eruptions, looks like boils, appears in face, during her menstruation for 3 to 4
days and then it clears up. This was sufficient to prescribe from understanding
of Materia Medica.

Case Story- 12:

The next short case story relates to a young girl in her mid-20’s suffering from
extreme physical weakness, which surprised me. She mentioned her weakness
started after her first delivery when she had quite bit of bleeding (post partum
hemorrhage). While describing her symptoms, one of the interesting things she
mentioned was that she has an extreme degree of sensitivity to food and does not
like to be touched! She is anxious and many times she feels the anxiety is
coming from the stomach! I thought that was enough for my prescription.
