ORAL TEST ENGLISH II – Unit 1 - Spring 2022

Instructions: Start a conversation with a classmate using vocabulary and conversation strategies
learnt in class. Ask and answer five (5) questions at least. Use expressions like “And you?, What
about you?, and How about you?” to exchange information.

Situation 1
You and your friend are exchanging information about your exercise habits.

Dialog structure:
 (Say “hello” and ask how the other person is / answer back).
 Suggested questions:
a) Are you getting enough exercise these days?
b) What are you doing for exercise?
c) How much are you walking?
d) Are you learning a new sport?
e) What kind of weather do you prefer to exercise?
f) Do you play any sports?
g) Do you prefer to exercise alone or with friends?
 (React to one answer with a different “That’s…” expression each).
 (Find a reason to finish the conversation).
 (Say “good-bye”).

Situation 2
You are in Santiago. It’s autumn. You are talking with a friend who lives in Spain. It’s spring there.
Exchange information about seasons and exercise.

Dialog structure:
 (Say “hello” and ask how the other person is / answer back).
 Suggested questions:
a) What’s the season there now?
b) What’s the weather like?
c) What are you doing now?
d) Are you getting enough exercise these days?
e) What are you doing for exercise?
f) Are you learning a new sport?
g) What kind of weather do you prefer to exercise?
 (React to one answer with a different “That’s…” expression each).
 (Find a reason to finish the conversation).
 (Say “good-bye”).

Situation 3
You and your friend are exchanging information about your perfect days.

Dialog structure:
 (Say “hello” and ask how the other person is / answer back).
 Suggested questions; both students ask questions in turn:
a) Where are you?
b) Who are you with?
c) What’s the weather like?
d) What are you wearing?
e) What are you doing?
f) Why is this your perfect day?
 (React to one answer with a different “That’s…” expression each).
 (Find a reason to finish the conversation).
 (Say “good-bye”).
