Returns:
The returns refer to a small tubes threaded to the lower part of the group and through which the oil
flows according to the different situations of operation.
A transparent flexible pipes are placed in these tubes; if the cover of the tank is raised these transparent
flexible pipes can be accessed and check through which the oil is flowing at any moment. This will
help us to find the come up problem in each situation.

A- BASIC ADJUSTMENTS FOR THE COMISSIONING CHECK OF THE AH-1VS VALVE GROUP:

The following adjustments would be the necessary ones for adjusting the AH-1VS valve group, in case the
factory adjustment is lost :

- Adjustment of Screw D (By-pass valve):

1.- Turn clockwise screw B to the maximum (fully tightened).

2.- Turn anti-clockwise screw D at least 5-6 complete turns. It should be as loosenest as possible without
getting out of the group.

3.- Do an ascent journey (through the control manoeuvre or through the contactor directly). The cabin should not
move (if it moves, unscrew screw D a bit more). Once you have done that, turn clockwise screw D, turn to
turn, till the cabin start moving.
If the cabin does move, interrupt the manoeuvre and give a half turn anti-clockwise to screw D.

4.- In this position the by-pass valve is adjusted.

5.- Turn anti-clockwise 1 or 2 turns screw B, which adjust the smoothness of the ascent acceleration.

- Adjustment of screw B (Ascent acceleration):

1.- Load the cabin with half the rated load.

2.- Tighten screw B to smooth the star. If screw B is fully tighten, the elevator will not start.

- Adjustment of screw A (Pressure relief valve):

1.- Load the cabin at the lower level with 140 % of the rated load. Push the ascent button, the cabin should not
move. The oil should return to the tank. If the cabin moves, interrupt the manoeuvre using the STOP button on
the push button and adjust the pressure relief valve, loosen screw A by half turn to reduce the trip pressure
and go on checking.

2.- Load the cabin at the lower level with 110 % of the rated load. Push the ascent button, the cabin should move
normally. If the cabin does not move, interrupt the manoeuvre using the STOP button on the push button and
adjust the pressure relief valve, tighten screw A to increase the trip pressure.

- Adjustment of screw C (Descent speed):

1.- Load the cabin with half of the rated load. Time how long it takes to do an upward journey. The time in a
downward journey with this load should be more or less the same.

2.- If the speed is greater than required tighten screw C; if it is less loosen it.

3.- If an increase in speed is not obtained by loosening screw C, tighten screw E and adjust again with screw
C.

- Adjustment of screw E (Descent deceleration valve):

1.- Load the cabin with half of the rated load

2.- Tighten screw E to get a smoother and longer stop. Loosen it to get a shorter and sharper stop, if it is
too loosened there will be some problem in the descent.

- Adjustment of screw G (Minimum pressure in cylinder):

1.- In case the cabin get blocked, this valve avoid the descent of the cabin if you press the Manual descent button.
When the cabin is empty it should descent pressing the Manual descent button. If it does not, loosen screw G.

B- PROBLEMS CONCERNING ASCENT MANOEUVRE

THE CABIN DOES NOT ASCENT OR THE ASCENT SPEED IS LESS THAN REQUIRED :

1.- Check that the motor turns to the right. If it does not, exchange the wires of the motor (change two of the phases).

2.- Make a note of the lenght X of screw D to leave it in the same position. Tighten
screw D to the maximum and make an ascent manoeuvre. X

- If it does not move the problem is before the valve group, check if there is any
fissure in the pump or hose, if there is some racord wrongly connected ... Put
screw D in its initial position.
- If it moves the problem should be in the valve group, check the following points.
Before checking them, put screw D in its initial position. Figure 3

3.- Check that the load of the cabin is not greater than required. If the load is right, check that there is not oil flowing in
the return of the pressure relief valve. (See figure 2). If there is oil in such return the pressure relief valve is wrongly
adjusted. Adjust the pressure relief valve as it is explained in section A.

4.- Check that screw B (see figure 1) is not complety tigthened. If it is, lossen and adjust it. Adjust screw B as it is
explained in section A.

5.- Check that the restrictor and the filter of the orifice of the by-pass valve driving are not blocked, for cheking them
disassemble the corresponding cover (see figure 5).

6.- Check screw E (see figure 1) is not completely tightened. If it is, loosen and adjust it. Adjust screw as it is
explained in section A.

7.- Check that the restrictor and the filter of the orifice of the descent valve driving are not blocked, for cheking
them disassemble the corresponding cover (see figure 5)

8.- Screw D (See figure 1) could not be well adjusted, for adjusting it follow the instructions given in section A.

C- PROBLEMS CONCERNING DESCENT MANOEUVRE.

THE CABIN DOES NOT DESCEND :

1.- Check that the down electro-valve has got voltage or that the coil is in good conditions; if it is not replace
the coil.

2.- Check that the pressure is not zero or close to zero, the cabin could have been blocked by the rupture
valve. Ascend a bit the cabin and adjust the descent speed, screw C, or the rupture valve. In the lifts and HO
platforms check if the chassis is blocked by the safety gear

3.- Check that screw C (See figure 1) is not completely tightened. If it is, loosen and adjust it as it is explained
in section A.

4.- If screw E is excessively loosened the platform does not descend or it descends slowly jumping up and
down. Adjust screw E as it is explained in section A.

5.- If all the previous points are well, the body of the descent electro-valve must be
blocked. For checking the core, the electrovalve has to be disassembled using a 22-fixed
spanner. If it is blocked, replace it.

Disassemble with a 22- fixed

spanner for accesing the core

Figura 4
THE CABINE MISSES THE FLOOR:

1.- Check screw E (see figure 1) is not completely tightened. If it is, loosen and adjust it as it is explained in
section A.

2. Check that the restrictor and the filter of the orifice of the driving of the descent valve are not blocked, for
that disassemble the corresponding cover (see figure 5).

BEING THE CABIN ON THE FLOOR, IT LOSES LEVEL:

1.- Check that there is not oil flowing in the return of the manual descent button (see figure 2). If there is oil
flowing in such return, check that the manual descent button is not pressed. If it is not blocked, disassemble
the cover of the group located in the manual descent button (see figure 5) and clean the seat of the
corresponding locking ball (see figure 6).

2.- It could happen that the seats of the down valve and-or the non-return valve are not right. Disassemble the
cover of the corresponding group (see figure 5), take the bodies of the valves and clean the seat of the group
(see figure 7). Check as well that the locking gaskets of the valves are in good conditions; if they are not
replace the pistons. It is possible to change only the gaskets but a press assembles them and it is difficult to
replace them.

3.- The return of the descent electro-valve is the main one, so it is hard to notice if there is any leak. If the two
previous points are right and the platform goes on losing the required level, the seat and the core of the
electrovalve should be checked. For checking these points disassemble the core of the electrovalve with a 22-
fixed spanner, see figure 4.

4.- Check there are no oil leaks between the manual descent button and the group or between the different
covers of the group. If there is any leak in the manual descent button, replace it togehther with its gasket. If
there is a leak between the different covers of the group, the o-ring set has to be replaced.
