• Safety in the workplace is everyone’s responsibility

• Every injury needs to be reported in the workplace

• Safety glasses need to be work in any part of the workplace.

• If a visitor comes into the working area of a repair shop, safety glasses should be

offered to the visitor.

• Spills are the responsibility of the person that created the spill.

• If a person is injured in a shop, someone should be contacted in charge to

determine the necessity of emergency personnel being contacted.

• It’s not ok to use a chair or stool to climb up on an object to get something down.

• A person needs proper training on how to use a ladder

• Burned out light bulbs in the shop or lab area needs to be replaced before work

continues.

• Dress code can decrease accidents and injuries.

• What 2 things are required to start a fire

1. Fuel

2. Oxygen or air

• What are the 3 ways we control a fire?

1. Reduce the heat by adding water or an approved chemical source, such as a fire

extinguisher

2. Removing the source of fuel. Turn off the gas or remove some of the components

that burn; fire break, etc.

D: Combustible metals: Iron and magnesium Use: Multi-Purpose Dry

Chemical Dry Powder

• When working with gasoline, transferring fuel from one container to another

is done by making sure everything is grounded and no sparks or heat are

present during the transfer.

• Oily or contaminated shop rags should be stored in a metal container with a

sealed lid.
