Tutorial

Purpose of a Corsage/Lapel

It is traditional for corsages to go to mothers and grandmothers of the bride and


groom. They brighten up an outfit, especially for a special occasion like a wedding.
Corsages and lapels are said to bring good fortune to the Bride and Groom's
relationship.

Appropriate bows are created by wrapping the base of the Corsage/Lapel and then
adding additional loops for an accent.

For a wedding, several floral arrangements will be created. A wrist corsage for the bride, a pin on corsage
for the bride’s mother and a lapel for the groom are among the floral arrangements.

Time ORDER OF WORK/METHOD


MANAGEMENT

8:00-8:30 Collect all tools/equipment.


Set up work area.
Prepare wrist corsage by cutting the flower,
baby’s breath, ferns into desired length and use
floral tape to wrap stems and secure material
together. Neaten arrangement. Tidy work area.

8:30-9:00 Prepare pin on corsage by cutting roses, ferns


and baby’s breath into desired length. To make a
triangular form, start with ferns and baby’s
breath, then add the roses. Hot glue and floral
tape were then used to secure all the materials
together. Neaten arrangement. Tidy work area.

9:00-9:30 Prepare the lapel by cutting roses, ferns and


fillers to desired length. The rose, ferns and
baby’s breath should be arranged in an
asymmetrical shape. Use hot glue and floral tape
to secure the stems together. Neaten edges. Tidy
work area.

9:30-10:00 Prepare place cards by cutting cartridge paper


into 8 by 5-inch rectangles. Use markers to write
the respective names of items. Do for it to stand.
Tidy work area.

Prepare presentation table by ironing and


10:00-10:30 placing tablecloth on the table. Place floral
arrangements on the table. After the floral
arrangements have been set up, there will be a
presentation on the types of Corsages/Lapels
and how to make and pin them on. Do final
clean up.
