Himachal Pradesh police to organize ‘All Women Parade' for International Women's Day
On the occasion of International Women's Day, Himachal Pradesh Police Department will organize
‘All Woman Parade' at the historic Ridge Grounds in Shimla, aimed at increasing the strength of women
in the police force.
The state police will celebrate the Day in two sessions.
State governor Bandaru Dattatreya will be the chief guest in the first session during which the Parade
will be held on the Ridge, while the chief minister Jai Ram Thakur will be the chief guest during the
second session.
Himachal Pradesh DGP Sanjay Kundu said the state Police will hold a series of events on Women's
Day.
On the occasion, 26 women cop will perform daring bike stunts and musketry drills, which will be a major
attraction in the first season.
An exhibition on the theme, 'Women in HP Police in 50 Years' would be displayed at Gaiety Theatre at
six pm followed by a cultural program during the second session.
Himachal Pradesh CM inaugurates multiple services: e-Office, e-Heli Service, e-Aagman, e-Lahaul for
Lahaul-Spiti district
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur virtually launched e-Office, e-Heli Service, e-
Aagman and e-Lahaul for Lahaul-Spiti district from Shimla.
Chief Minister said that all these services would go a long way in providing people friendly services to the
people of Lahaul-Spiti district on click of button.
He said that these initiatives were the best examples of optimum use of Information Technology for good
governance.
Information Technology Minister Dr. Ram Lal Markanda noted that Lahaul-Spiti would become the first
district of the State in effective adopting of e-office in the State.
It may be recalled that district administration Lahaul & Spiti with the help of Department of Information
Technology has been working on many IT initiatives to provide citizen services digitally to the people of
tribal district.

Pradesh plans to supply over 2 lakh tap water connections across the State
Himachal Pradesh has planned to provide over two lakh tap water connections across the State.
Jal Shakti Ministry said that the Himachal Pradesh government has also reiterated its commitment to
achieve Har Ghar Jal target by July next year.
The State presented their Jal Jeevan Mission Annual Action Plan for the current financial year before
the national committee chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti through video conference.
Himachal Pradesh has over 17 lakh rural households, out of which around 76 per cent have assured
tap water supply.
The Ministry said, since the announcement of Jal Jeevan Mission in August, 2019, over five lakh tap
water connections has been provided and so far eight thousand 458 villages in the State have been
declared Har Ghar Jal.
The Jal Jeevan Mission is a flagship programme of the Central Government being implemented in
partnership with the States with the objective to provide tap water connection in every rural household by

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari laid foundation stones of several road projects in Himachal Pradesh
Union minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid foundation stones of road projects worth Rs 6,155
crore in Himachal Pradesh through video conferencing from Manali in Kullu district.
The projects included the 39-km-long Parwanoo-Solan section of the NH-22, constructed at a cost of
Rs 1,303 crore.
On this occasion, Gadkari stated roads are prerequisite for the overall development of any nation.
Better roads in Himachal Pradesh will go a long way in tourism promotion, he added.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur mentioned that the state has a road network of 40,000 kilometres but a
lot more needs to be done.

Himachal Pradesh - first state to administer first dose of Corona vaccine to 100 percent of its eligible
population
Himachal Pradesh has achieved a unique distinction of achieving cent percent target of first dose of
Covid-19 vaccination above the age of 18 years.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the State Government and has agreed to virtually
address the people of the State on 6th of September.
He will also interact with few frontline workers, who have done exceptional work in achieving this target.
Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, Chief Medical Officers and other senior officers of the
state from Shimla Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur stated that health workers would also interact with the
Prime Minister and share their views regarding making this vaccination campaign a success.
Chief Minister directed the officers that adequate arrangements should be made for sitting of general
public at the venue where the event would be screened.
World’s Highest EV Charging Station inaugurated in Himachal Pradesh
In a bid to promote a sustainable environment, the world's highest electric vehicle charging station
was inaugurated in Kaza of Lahaul and Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh.
This is the world's highest electric vehicle charging station at 500 ft in Kaza.
It is the first station here.
If the station gets a good response, more stations would be set up.
It will also help to check vehicular pollution.
The magistrate further stated that two women drove electric vehicles from Manali to Kaza in order to
promote a clean and green environment.
