IMPORTANT

Before installing this beats package, please read the following information.

Starting October 2018, we no longer show drumset version number within a drumset name
inside BB Manager or BeatBuddy (eg. Standard v1.1), so all new songs will have default
drumsets set to plain names (eg. Standard). If your installed drumsets have version numbers
contained in their names, installing new beat packages will cause them to not be linked to their
desired default drumsets. The resulting mismatch will be displayed like this: *Standard.

Remedy: Before installing any new beat packages, please rename all drumsets within your
BeatBuddy Manager by deleting the version number portion of the names. The BeatBuddy
Manager will associate all existing linked songs to the new names and newly imported content
will correctly be linked. The name editing is done under "Drum Sets" tab, by slowly clicking
twice on each drum set name.

In addition to fills originally found in these songs, we have added fills in sections where there
were none present in the original recordings. This was done on requests from users who may
mistake fills not being played for a pedal malfunction. All extra fills are clearly marked as
“EXTRA FILL- not part of song” within BeatBuddy Manager. If you prefer to play the original
arrangements, delete those fills.

Although songs are ready to use “out of the box”, it is essential that you familiarize yourself with
how each section was assigned. Feel free to customize them to better suit your performance
needs.

They are provided as both BeatBuddy Song format and as individual MIDI files.

While the songs supplied in this packages will work on most default drumsets on your pedal,
for more authentic results we recommend the VINTAGE Ludwig drum set.

 How to use these beats:

To load this beats package into your BeatBuddy pedal, you will need to use the BeatBuddy
Manager Software available from myBeatBuddy.com download page:

Download and install the BB Manager software, then start it.

Please note: In order to add this set of BB Songs to your existing project (eg. Default beats and
drumsets that came supplied with the pedal) you need to make sure that the project you wish to
add it to is currently opened. If it is not, open it either by browsing to a folder on your computer
where you have it stored or by importing it from the pedal. Please consult the official
BeatBuddy Manager Software on how to do this.

Adding this package to your project:

In the top menu go to File – Import – Folder and click on it.

Once the browser window opens, navigate to location on your computer where you saved this
beats package and select file with extension .pbf .

Folder containing all songs provided in this package will be loaded into your project.

It will show up in the “Project Explorer” located in the lower left window of the BB Manager.

Click on the plus “+” next to the name of the folder to view its content. Songs contained in the
folder will be displayed bellow and also available for preview and editing in the right window
of the software.

Clicking on a name of a song will highlight it in the edit window and allow you to play it by
using the “play” button (located in the top right corner) or by clicking on the virtual BeatBuddy
Pedal (located in the top left corner).

Virtual pedal acts in the same way as the actual BeatBuddy physical pedal, so you can easily
preview fills, transitions, beats and accent hits (if provided).

Make a note of the beats and fills and combine them in any way you like by using the original
midi loops supplied with this package. They will be located in the same folder as the pbf file
you loaded (but likely placed in subfolders for better organizing). You can see names of files
used in a particular song as in the picture bellow.
You can also use the great new features of BeatBuddy Manager- drag and drop, as well as
copy and paste. You can copy any loop from any song to any section of any other song.

Refer to the official BeatBuddy Manager Software for more info about creating and saving your
songs.

As well as combining MIDI loops into your own sequences, you are also able to specify default
tempos, default drumsets and name/ rename songs.

After you have created and saved your new songs, it is time to sync them up with your
BeatBuddy pedal (upload them to your pedal), so you can use them.

Updating your pedal with this project

In order to transfer them to your pedal, you need to have either the pedal (via USB) or the
BeatBuddy SD Card plugged into the computer.

Under File item in the top menu, navigate down to Synchronize Project or Export Project To
Pedal.

Note: In order to Synchronize the project with your pedal, you first need to link the project on
your pedal with the one on your computer. If this is the first time you are updating the pedal or
you have not linked your project yet, you will need to export the entire project to the pedal/ SD
card. Exporting a project to your SD card will erase all data currently found on it. Upon
completion, you will be prompted to link the project. Click “yes”. Now you will be able to

quickly synchronize all future changes to your project.

Note that the pedal can contain only 1 project at a time, while you can save unlimited number of
projects to your computer. “Project” comprises of folders, songs contained within folders, accent
hits and drumsets.
