Experiment 1: Draw daily load curves of your room/house for the given dates

Objectives
After completing the lab session the student will learn
i. To estimate the load of their residence
ii. to estimate the cost of electricity
Tasks to be performed
a) List type of loads in your room and their power ratings
b) Determine the connected load of your room
c) Draw load curves for the following dates:
a. February 12, 2023
b. February 13, 2023
d) From the plots answer the following questions:
1. Determine the Demand Factor of your room.
2. From the plots, determine average power on the 24 hour basis.
3. Determine your energy demand on the given dates.
4. Is it possible to predict your energy demand a week later on February 19, 2023 and on
February 20, 2023?
5. Assuming that the cost of electricity is Rs. 15.0/kWh, what will be your bills of electricity
for the given dates?
6. Is there any difference in the load curves of two different days? Please comment.
7. Do you expect any change in the shape of these plots if drawn a week later and three
months later from the above dates? Comment.
8. Calculate the amount of coal consumed on the two dates assuming that a coal-fired power
plant supplied the load.
9. How much CO2, NOx, and SOx will be released per annum into the atmosphere
assuming that the daily load curves on different days are identical to that on January 13,
2023.
Lab Report
I. Report submission date: February 16, 2023.
II. Lab report should include a cover page with the name of the experiment, your name,
