What is a learning disability among children?

A child with a learning disability may have difficulties in reading, writing, speaking, listening,
understanding mathematical concepts, and with general comprehension.
A learning disability is not a problem with intelligence or motivation and kids with learning
disabilities aren’t lazy or dumb. In fact, most are just as smart as everyone else. Their brains are
simply wired differently—and this difference affects how they receive and process information.
Learning disabilities look very different from one child to another. One child may struggle with
reading and spelling, while another loves books but can’t understand math. Still another child
may have difficulty understanding what others are saying or communicating out loud. The
problems are very different, but they are all learning disorders.
3 CONDITIONS
1. Normal Intelligence
Nonverbal intelligence is the ability to analyze information and solve problems using visual, or
hands-on reasoning. In other words, it is the ability to make sense of and act on the world
without necessarily using words.
2. Academic Achievement Deficit
Such as oral expression, listening, comprehension, mathematical calculation and spelling.
Students with learning disabilities have strengths similar to their peers in several areas, but their
rate of learning is unexpectedly slower. (mas mabagal yung kanilang learning)
3. Absence of other handicapping conditions
a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more of a person's major life
activities
