Problem Analysis

To start a business relying on the café’s and restaurants its takes up, a
lot budget and expenses. One of the biggest challenge concerning this
is affording tables and chairs, since they are needed in large amount.
Normally chairs and tables are expensive ranging between 7000 - 8000.
With this cost, it would be difficult to even think of collecting minimum
numbers.
Target Demography
Targeted groups to purchase the product are any entrepreneur who
wants to start a business regarding café’s, restaurants, or any other
functions. So its possible to have it with minimum cost, good aesthetics
and long lasting quality of wood product starting from 1300-3000.
Location
Site study targeted around 24 (Haya arat), around Megenagna, Addis
Ababa, Ethiopia.
Feasibility Study
1. Café Chair
Around 24 we tried to observe furniture of cafés and restaurants.
It was possible to see many smaller café’s tend to have and afford
wood works of table and sits. Which explains it high demand on
the market.
Demand analysis
According to our observation, we were able to see many cafés seem to
afford wood chairs and tables increasing the demand across the
business world. This demand can exceed up 80% of the market.
Supply analysis
The product can be easily made in any wood workshop, which makes it
very accessible in any area and situation. Moreover, according to its
simplicity in function and availability of the material makes it supply
able with minimum cost.
Function
It’s a sitting chair with nice aesthetic value used in cafes and
restaurants. The chair has an overall height of 120cm with 40cm and
50cm width and length respectively. On our investigation we had a
chance to observe specific café containing this chair. They have 17
piece of it with price of 1300 Ethiopian birr each. It was purchased from
a workshop named “Asnake wood work” around Gurd shola.
