Defining Collection Element Specification Limits

Step Action
1. Begin by navigating to the Collection Elements page.

Click the scrollbar.


2. Click the Manufacturing and Distribution Manager link.

3. Click the vertical scrollbar.


4. Click the Collection Elements link.

5. Use the Organizations page to select the appropriate organization.


6. Click the M1 list item.
7. Click the OK button.

8. Use the Collection Elements page to query for the collection element for which you
want to set specification limits.
9. Press [F11].
10. Enter the desired information into the Collection Element field. Enter a valid value e.g.
"OVEN TEMP%".
11. Press [Ctrl+F11].
12. Click the Spec Limits button.

13. Use the Specification Range page to enter the target value (the preferred value) and
three sets of upper and lower range limits, which can be changed without restriction.
14. The target value represents the preferred value.

Click in the Target Value field.

15. Enter the desired information into the Target Value field. Enter a valid value e.g. "191".
16. Use the lower and upper User-Defined Range fields to set a process control limit. Your
user-defined limits can be inside of, outside of, or overlapping your specification range
limits.
17. Click in the lower User-Defined Range field.

18. Enter the desired information into the lower User-Defined Range field. Enter a valid
value e.g. "120".
19. Click in the upper User-Defined Range field.

20. Enter the desired information into the upper User-Defined Range field. Enter a valid
value e.g. "220".
21. Use the lower and upper Specification Range fields to enter engineering tolerances.
22. Click in the lower Specification Range field.

23. Enter the desired information into the lower Specification Range field. Enter a valid
value e.g. "195".
24. Click in the upper Specification Range field.

25. Enter the desired information into the upper Specification Range field. Enter a valid
value e.g. "205".
26. Use the lower and upper Reasonable Range fields to ensures that you collect  values
that make sense.
27. Click in the lower Reasonable Range field.

28. Enter the desired information into the lower Reasonable Range field. Enter a valid
value e.g. "100".
29. Click in the upper Reasonable Range field.

30. Enter the desired information into the upper Reasonable Range field. Enter a valid
value e.g. "250".
31. Click the Save button.

32. Click the Close button.

33. You have successfully defined collection element specification limits.
