MOMOTARO – THE PEACH BOY

Assalamualaikum and good morning teachers and friends. I am __________ from 5_____.
I would like to tell about a story entitled “Momotaro – The Peach Boy.”
The story is about an elderly couple who lived in a small village in Japan. They were
childless.
One day, the old woman found a peach floating in the river. She took the peach home and showed it
to her husband.
They were shocked to see a baby coming out of the peach. They named him Momotaro.
Momotaro grew up to be a very strong and brave boy.
One day, an evil ogre attacked the village. Momotaro asked permission from his parents to
fight the ogre. On his way, Momotaro made friends with a dog, a monkey and a pheasant. Together
they went on a journey to defeat the ogre.

HOW THE TIGER GOT ITS STRIPES

I would like to tell about a story entitled “How The Tiger Got Its Stripes.”
The story is about a very proud tiger. One day, the tiger saw a buffalo working for a man. It wanted
the man’s wisdom. The man was afraid the tiger would eat his goats.
The man then used his wisdom to outsmart the tiger. He tied the tiger to a tree. The man went home
with his animals.
The tiger broke free from the tree. The tiger did not realise the rope had burnt stripes onto its shiny
coat. It saw its reflection in the water.
The buffalo and the other animals laughed. The tiger was embarrassed of its stripes. Finally, the tiger
hid in the jungle.
